Whole Crude Analysis By Process NMR Spectroscopy This application involves the correlation of 1H NMR spectra of whole crude (under pressure) to the oil, water and gas content of the intact whole crude. The NMR sees the crude oil component and from that a variance in TBP, sulfur, and density properties can be measure in real time. The NMR also observes the water content and a saperate resonance is observed for the methane gas present in the sample. Thus, the relative concentration of all three components can be readily quantified. Crude oil properties and water content models can be developed in a methodology similar to that shown for the crude blending/crude switch applications.
