Bitumen Processing
NMR can be used to follow bitumen processing in instances where the bitumen is present in a solvent. NMR can be used to monitor bitumen/solvent ratio. Asphaltene content can also be predicted via chemometric modeling. Density of bitumen can be determined after the bitumen/solvent ratio is obtained. Representative data is shown below.
